"At Great Diamond we are entirely focused on the success of our clients and our community – a characteristic that defines the next generation of wealth management firms."

As CEO and Founding Partner of Great Diamond Partners, Steven Tenney strategically leads the firm, supports all of its members and directs the investment strategy. He believes the gold standard of wealth management is found at the intersection of empathy and technology, and helps the firm evolve to that level, to meet the needs of today’s clients and those of the next generation.

Previously, Steve worked at UBS Financial Services for 26 years, most recently as Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager. In 1997, Steve merged his wealth management practice with his father’s. This first-hand experience in a family business gives Steve empathy for the families he consults with as they face financial and emotional challenges.

Prior to UBS, Steve worked as a securities lending representative at State Street Bank and started his career as a research assistant at Morgan Stanley Asset Management in London.

Steve lives in Yarmouth, Maine, with his wife, Christine. Their photographer son Nick lives in Bozeman, Montana, where he graduated from Montana State University.  Their daughter, Leah, is studying interior design at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts.

As a Founding Partner and Chief Planning Officer, Joe leads the financial planning and insurance strategies focus for Great Diamond Partners, which he helped found in 2019. Having started his career in investment banking, he moved to Citibank Private Bank, expanding his experience into investment services. In 2000, he joined UBS, where over the course of 19 years, he rose to be a Senior Vice President. At UBS, he partnered with several Great Diamond colleagues, and together they built a collaborative team with a common vision of serving their clients’ best interests first.

Joe lives in Yarmouth, Maine, with his wife Tania and their two high school-aged children, Tasha and Josef and the precocious Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Moxie.

“I enjoy being on the Great Diamond team because I love assisting clients and becoming even a small part of their lives. The amazing people on our team work hard for our clients and always do the right thing—both personally and professionally—it’s so inspiring.”

Helen Andreoli is the Chief Financial Officer and a Founding Partner of Great Diamond Partners. A 20-year veteran of the financial services industry, having worked at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and UBS Financial Services, Helen is an integral part of the team that launched the firm in 2019.

Helen grew up on an island in mid-coast Maine and attended high school, college and graduate school in, what she considers, “the best State in the Country.” Although firmly rooted in Maine, Helen has traveled extensively, visiting Australia, South Korea, Italy, Spain, England, France, Greece, Mexico, Ecuador, Canada and the Netherlands. She brings a unique perspective to the team by adding the insights and experience of a business owner. Helen owned and operated a statewide waste and recycling hauling firm in Maine for eight years before selling it to a competitor in 1998.

Helen spends most of her workweek in Portland but calls Lovell, Maine, her home. It’s in the foothills of the White Mountains that she enjoys spending time with her dogs – a Dogue de Bordeaux named Buddy and a Black Labrador Retriever named Humphrey. Her husband, Charlie Tryder, who is the Dean of Students at Fryeburg Academy, lives with Helen and her “boys”. She has three grown children: Wyatt, an Arizona State grad, working in financial services in Boston; Blaine, a graduate from the University of Vermont, working in Watertown, Mass., providing technology services at a private school; and Sydney, also a UVM grad, pursuing work as an EMT in Maine and planning on medical school.

Community Involvement

“I currently serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for ProsperityME, whose mission is to bring financial success to both individuals new to our country and those struggling to build wealth. I’m also a Board Member of Maine Recovery Fund, which provides community support to people in recovery, seeking to re-enter the workforce and to re-establish a productive life. As an active volunteer with the Maine League of Women Voters, I work to register, engage and educate voters. Previous volunteer experience includes working with United Way of Greater Portland and The Maine Community Foundation to assist in allocating funding to local non-profits.”

“It’s an exciting time for our industry with the development of boutique firms like Great Diamond Partners. The progressive technology makes our work far more enjoyable and productive.”

In her role as Senior Client Service Specialist, Susan is responsible for client account administration, lending, insurance, compliance and firm operations. Her attention to detail and high level of efficiency ensures every client need is met with speed and consistency.

Susan is a seasoned expert in the financial services industry, bringing over 30 years of client service experience at Maine National Bank, Key Bank and UBS Financial Services in Portland, ME. She has a 26-year history with the team that founded Great Diamond Partners.

Susan is a proud Mainer, spending her childhood in Westbrook and moving to the Riverton section of Portland after marrying her husband (of over 40 yrs!), Ken. While her roots may be firmly planted in Maine, Susan loves to travel and has explored Canada, London, Scotland, Mexico, the Bahamas and Bermuda.

Outside of the office, Susan enjoys gardening, reading any genre of writing and spending time with her husband, 3 children and 6 grandchildren. As one might expect from a devoted grandmother, Susan proudly displays some of her grandchildren’s artwork in her office.

Three things to know about Susan

“I come from a very large French family. I have 3 brothers, 2 sisters and 49 first cousins! In the 1920s, my pépère (French Canadian for grandfather) walked on foot from Moncton, New Brunswick to Westbrook seeking work.”

“One of my favorite pastimes is camping in our beautiful state with my friends, family and grandchildren. Favorite spots include Bar Harbor and Poland Springs. In retirement, it’s my dream to take our camper on a road trip cross-country and visit every state.”

“I am an avid yard saler but the hobby started out as a way to connect and spend more time with my mother and my aunt who began the Saturday tradition themselves. I enjoy the stories I collect from them far more than the tangible finds, but my most memorable discovery was a log-splitter. Ask me to tell you the story!”

“Our work at Great Diamond Partners is so much more than a numbers game – yes we are your advisors and your planners, but we’re your friends and your confidantes, too. My favorite part of the work day is connecting with clients over a shared interest or learning about a significant moment worthy of celebration in their lives!”

As Client Experience Specialist, Meg ensures a dynamic, seamless and high-quality experience for every client. She is responsible for brand awareness, marketing strategies, event planning and the firm’s social presence.

Meg brings a unique perspective and over ten years of administrative, marketing and design experience within the non-profit sector. Prior to the launch of Great Diamond Partners in 2019, Meg spent over four years crafting the client experience and supporting the management team at UBS Financial Services in Portland, ME.

Meg grew up in a small rural village in southeastern Pennsylvania and spent her college years in the historic town of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Her career choices kept moving her closer and closer to the suburbs of Philadelphia and she longed for a quieter, less congested, more beautiful place to call home. In 2013, she and her husband, Andrew, had the fortuitous opportunity to move to Maine and they’ve never been happier.

Meg and Andrew now reside in Gray where they spend many weekends renovating and restoring their 19th century farmhouse and barn. You’ll often find her with her nose in a book, curled up with her Norwegian Forest cat, Penny and Calico cat, Eliza. She loves hunting for architectural salvage, vintage advertising pieces and first-edition Nancy Drew novels.

Three things to know about Meg

“One of the best ways for me to unwind is to sit down and play the piano. The piano in my home has been passed down through my family and played by my great-great uncle, great-aunt, grandmother, mother and sister – we can’t get it perfectly tuned but the sentimental value to me is dear. I even have vintage sheet music that has been played by and passed down through my family and I display different pieces throughout the seasons.”

“I grew up vacationing many summers in Ocean City, NJ, which will always hold a special place in my heart, but some of my most memorable vacations are at Lake Sunapee, NH and Lake Wallenpaupack, PA. I feel a strong connection to the water and I think it’s one of the reasons I feel so at-home in Maine.”

“Andrew and I rented for so long – owning a home (or at least the home that was a right fit for us) felt like a dream we may never realize. As much as I love exploring Maine and visiting family in Bangor and Pennsylvania, my absolute favorite place to be is in my kitchen – cooking something delicious and watching the birds come to the feeders outside my kitchen window.”

“Great Diamond Partners allows for a more personalized and intimate client experience that you won’t find at other firms – I’ve never felt more supported in providing exceptional client service.”

As Client Service Specialist, Andrew is responsible for client servicing and relationship management needs, including account administration, portfolio reporting, retirement matters and client education. He also supports the team’s investment management effort.

Andrew brings over ten years of financial industry experience to the team, working at UBS Financial Services in Newtown, PA, Philadelphia, PA and Portland, ME before supporting the launch of Great Diamond Partners in 2019. Prior to his career in financial services, Andrew developed valuable client service skills in his management role with Brooks Brothers.

Andrew is from rural Berks County, Pennsylvania and spent many childhood summers visiting his grandparents and family in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, right on the Mason-Dixon line. As an adult working in Philadelphia, Andrew quickly realized that the ‘big city’ wasn’t a great fit for him and he strived to land somewhere that felt more like home. With its breathtaking scenery, rugged coastlines and serene lakes, Maine felt like the perfect spot.

Andrew now resides in Gray, with his wife, Meg and his two cats, Penny and Eliza. He spends many weekends renovating and restoring his 19th century farmhouse and barn. In the summer, he tends to a small vegetable patch and pretends he is a farmer. Andrew is a die-hard Philadelphia Flyers fan and would love to play in an adult hockey league if he could just improve his skating skills.

Three things to know about Andrew

“I grew up on family farms in south-central PA and am a frustrated farmer at heart. I used to cut out pictures of cows from my grandfather’s ‘Hoard’s Dairyman’ magazine to play with and I can identify almost every breed of cow.”

“I have become quite the whiskey aficionado over the years – I prefer Irish whiskey but I’m game to try a good scotch or bourbon. I’ve toured many distilleries, but my favorite was the Jameson Distillery in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland.”

“I have an extensive record collection, ranging from 1920s jazz to rockabilly to classic rock and roll. It’s on my bucket list to visit the Sun Records Studio in Memphis, TN and Johnny Cash’s boyhood home in Dyess, AR.”
