It is with a mixture of excitement, pride, and a sense of loss that we announce that Susan Welsch will be retiring from Great Diamond Partners on June 30th. Many of us are fortunate to have “that person” in our lives who keeps everything running properly and demonstrates unending loyalty. It’s even better when those traits come with compassion and a strong sense of family. And it’s incredibly rare when that person serves a single group for 29 years.
Susan has a 29-year history with the team that founded Great Diamond Partners. Prior to launching Great Diamond Partners, we made a short list of critical issues that needed to be addressed. Near the top of that list was to have Susan join us. Since then, she has also waged countless battles on our clients’ behalf, always putting their interests above all else. She has been a sounding board, a voice of empathy, and an incredibly reliable administrative assistant. These traits have helped shape who Great Diamond Partners is today.
Susan is a proud Mainer, spending her childhood in Westbrook and moving to the Riverton section of Portland with her husband, Ken. While her roots may be firmly planted in Maine, Susan loves to travel and has explored Canada, London, Scotland, Mexico, the Bahamas, and Bermuda. “One of my favorite pastimes is camping in our beautiful state with my friends, family, and grandchildren,” Susan shared with us. “Favorite spots include Bar Harbor and Poland Springs. In retirement, it’s my dream to take our camper on a road trip cross-country and visit every state.”
Please join us as we wish Susan all the best as she heads out in her camper to make her dreams come true with Ken and the rest of the family. Thank you for your many contributions, Susan. We will miss you!
